This website does not use cookies. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no social media trackers, no third-party fonts. Nothing is written to your device, and nothing follows you after you leave.
That is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.
Most websites open with a request for permission to track you. This one has nothing to ask for, and we would rather explain why than leave you wondering.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can recognise you later. Cookies have legitimate uses — keeping you logged in, remembering a language preference — and less welcome ones, such as building a profile of your behaviour across different websites for advertising purposes.
Under the European ePrivacy Directive and Italian law, any cookie that is not strictly necessary to deliver the page you asked for requires your prior, informed and freely given consent.
What this website does
The Lago Heritage Journey is built as a single self-contained page. Every image, every style and every line of code is served from our own domain. Specifically:
| Technology | Status |
|---|---|
| Technical cookies | None |
| Analytics (Google Analytics or similar) | None |
| Advertising pixels (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok) | None |
| Social media embeds and share buttons | None — links to Facebook and YouTube are plain hyperlinks that set nothing until you click them |
| External fonts and libraries | None — fonts already installed on your device are used |
| Browser local storage and session storage | None |
| Fingerprinting | None |
What our server necessarily knows
Serving a web page requires a technical exchange that cannot be avoided. Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes the standard information every web server receives — the address of the page requested and the technical characteristics of the connection — in order to deliver the page and protect the site from attack and abuse. This is not a cookie, it does not identify you personally to us, and we do not have access to it in a form that would let us build a profile of you.
When you submit the waiting list form, the information you typed is sent to us. That is covered by our Privacy Policy, not by this one.
If this changes
We may one day run advertising campaigns to reach descendants of Lago families who do not yet know this project exists. If we do, that will require measurement tools, and those tools use cookies.
Should that happen, we commit to the following before a single tracking script loads:
- A consent banner will appear on your first visit, with Accept and Reject given equal prominence — no dark patterns, no pre-ticked boxes.
- No non-essential cookie will be set until you actively choose to accept.
- This page will be updated first, listing every cookie by name, purpose, provider and duration.
- Rejecting will remain as easy as accepting, and will not degrade your experience of the site.
Controlling cookies yourself
Although there is nothing here to block, every browser lets you review and delete the cookies stored on your device. The relevant setting is usually found under Privacy or Security:
- Safari — Settings → Privacy
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
